Four clear steps, no surprises

You always know what happens next, and nothing starts until you've agreed it.

  1. Shape the idea

    Who uses it, what problem it solves for them, and what the first version must do, written down and agreed.

  2. Prototype

    A clickable prototype you can put in front of users before a line of production code is written.

  3. Build and release

    Regular releases to a test environment you can use, then to the live site or the app stores.

  4. Run and improve

    Monitoring, updates for new browser and phone versions, and improvements based on how people actually use it.

Each app is quoted per project after discovery. Hosting and ongoing care are priced separately and agreed before launch, so you know the running costs in advance.

The problem

Customers phone and email to book visits, chase progress and ask for copies of certificates, so the office spends much of the day answering the same questions.

How we solve it

  1. Prototype the three things customers ask for most and test it with a handful of them.
  2. Build a portal where customers book visits, see job status and download certificates.
  3. Connect it to the scheduling system the engineers already use, so nothing is entered twice.

Should we build a web app or a mobile app?

Start with the web unless you need something a phone does best: offline use, the camera, location or push notifications. A web app reaches everyone and is cheaper to change; a mobile app can follow once the product has proved itself.

How long does an app take to build?

It depends on scope. We'd rather launch a smaller first version sooner and improve it with real users than spend a year building everything at once. Your quote includes a timeline.

Will the app be accessible?

Yes. We design and test against WCAG 2.2 AA. It matters for public-facing services and makes the app easier for everyone to use.
