How we work

From the first call to looking after it

The same four steps on every project, so you always know what happens next.

  1. Step 01

    Talk it through

A no-obligation call about what you need. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.

  2. Step 02

    Scope and quote

A written scope, timeline and price, agreed before any work starts.

  3. Step 03

    Build in the open

Regular check-ins and working demos, so there are no surprises at the end.

  4. Step 04

    Look after it

Support, monitoring and improvements for as long as you need them.

What we do

Three practices, one team behind your technology

Whether you need new software, a move to the cloud or reliable day-to-day IT, we build it, run it and look after it. You only ever have one team to call.

Expertise

Where careful engineering meets everyday IT

We bring a developer's discipline to day-to-day IT, and day-to-day common sense to software. That way, what we build is easy to run, and what we run is easy to support.

  • Internal tools & dashboards

Replace spreadsheets and copy-and-paste with software that fits how your team already works.

  • Cloud & monitoring

Infrastructure that is watched around the clock, patched on schedule and backed up every day.

  • Helpdesk & devices

A helpdesk your staff can call, and laptops and accounts set up properly from day one.

  • Security & resilience

Multi-factor sign-in, patching and tested backups. The basics, done properly and checked.

Why one team

Fewer suppliers, fewer gaps

Most small businesses end up with a developer, a hosting company and an IT support firm. When something breaks, each one points at the others, and someone on your team spends the afternoon in the middle.

  • Three suppliers

    • Three contracts, three invoices, three phone numbers
    • Nobody owns the whole picture
    • Problems bounce between companies
    • Knowledge leaves when a contractor does
  • One team

    • One agreement and one point of contact
    • The people who built it also run it
    • Problems are fixed, not forwarded
    • Everything documented, and the documents are yours

Ask a question

What does Providence Academy do?

We're a software and IT services company based in Leeds, working with businesses across the UK. We build bespoke software and web and mobile apps, move businesses to the cloud and run it for them, and provide managed IT support. One team covers all three, so there's only one place to call.

Do you only work with businesses in Leeds?

No. We're based in Leeds and work with businesses across the UK, mostly remotely. When something needs hands on site, such as a workshop, a new office or a network fault, we arrange a visit.

How much does it cost?

Software and app projects get a fixed quote after a short discovery phase, so the price reflects your real requirements. Cloud migrations are fixed-price, with a monthly fee to run them. Managed IT support is a monthly fee per user.

How quickly will you reply?

A person replies to every new enquiry within one business day. For managed IT clients, the helpdesk is open Monday to Friday, 8:00–18:00.

Can you take over from our current developer or IT provider?

Yes. We start by reviewing the code, hosting or IT setup, fix anything urgent and write it all down. Then we agree a plan for ongoing support. We can also work alongside someone you already have in-house.

Do you work with small businesses?

Yes. Most of our work is for teams of a few people to a few dozen. We size the work to the business, without enterprise complexity or cost.
