Cloud migration, infrastructure and DevOps

We move businesses off ageing servers, set up cloud infrastructure that is secure and sensibly priced, and automate the route from code to production so releases stop being nervous events.

What's included

Everything in one place, from one team

Cloud migration, infrastructure management and automated deployments.

  • 01

    Cloud migration

Servers, files and applications moved to AWS or Microsoft Azure in planned stages, with a tested way back at every step.

  • 02

    Cloud infrastructure management

Networks, servers, databases and backups set up properly, then kept patched, monitored and documented.

  • 03

    Cost control

Resources sized to what you use, and a regular view of what you're spending and why.

  • 04

    CI/CD pipelines

Automated build, test and deployment, so every release goes through the same checks and can be rolled back.

  • 05

    Infrastructure as code

Your environment written down as version-controlled code, so it can be reviewed, repeated and rebuilt.

  • 06

    Security and recovery

Access controls, encryption, backups you've actually tested restoring, and a written recovery plan.

  • Need something not listed?

Describe the problem rather than the service. We'll tell you whether we can help.

How it works

Four clear steps, no surprises

You always know what happens next, and nothing starts until you've agreed it.

  1. Assess

A record of what you run, how it connects, what it costs and where the risks are.

  2. Plan

The target setup, the order things move in, how we roll back, and an estimate of monthly running costs.

  3. Migrate

One system at a time, out of hours where needed, checked at each step before the next one moves.

  4. Run

Monitoring around the clock for managed clients, patching, backups and regular cost reviews.

Pricing

How pricing works

Migrations are quoted as fixed-price projects after the assessment. Running the infrastructure afterwards is a monthly fee based on the size of the environment.

Cloud provider charges are kept separate from our fees, so you always see the real cost of the platform.

A project we deliver

Moving an office server to the cloud

The problem, how we solve it, and what changes afterwards.

A rack of servers in a server room

The problem

An ageing server in a cupboard holds the shared files and a line-of-business application, and the backups go to a USB drive that someone takes home on Fridays.

How we solve it

  1. Assess what the server does, who depends on it and what it would cost to run in the cloud.
  2. Move files to cloud storage and the application to a managed cloud server, one at a time and out of hours.
  3. Set up automatic, tested backups and monitoring, then retire the old hardware.

What changes

  • No single box to fail
  • Backups that are tested
  • Access from anywhere, securely

Questions

Common questions

Can't see yours? We're happy to answer it on a short call.

Ask a question

Is the cloud actually cheaper than our own server?

Not always. It usually is once you count hardware replacement, power, backups and the time spent looking after a server. But a badly set-up cloud account can cost more. The assessment gives you a realistic monthly figure before you commit.

Will there be downtime during the migration?

We plan to keep it to a minimum: systems move one at a time, usually out of hours, with a way back ready if anything doesn't behave.

Which cloud provider should we use?

If you already use Microsoft 365, Azure often fits naturally. AWS has the widest range of services. We recommend based on what you run and need, not on a preference of ours.
